Madelyn Curcio (nee Santagata), of Old Bridge NJ, and formerly of Staten Island, Long Island, and Brooklyn, passed away on October 28, 2024. She was a seamstress by trade, and also worked in retail until she retired. Cherished wife of the late Albert Curcio. Devoted mother of Michael and daughter-in-law Debbie. Loving grandmother of Nicholas and Christopher. Wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Maryann Buonincontri, Jeanne Gallo, and Joseph Santagata.
Madelyn loved fashion, shopping, sharing travel adventures with her husband of 68 years, and celebrating every holiday with family. She was known for her festive holiday outfits, fun jewelry and perfume collections, and for cooking her traditional, delicious recipes. She adored her two grandsons and grand-dog Cooper, and loved spending time with them.
We would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff and amazing health aides at Brookdale Assisted Living in Emerson, and the doctors and staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Bergen for their ongoing care and support.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Madelyn’s life and faith will be held at 10AM on Saturday, November 2nd at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Madelyn’s memory (Madelyn was a huge supporter of the work St Jude does for children with cancer). The link to make a donation:
