

DONNE, Margaret Louise, 91, of Hillsdale, NJ, formerly of New City, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on September 21, 1927, passed away on Tuesday, August 27th, 2019. Margaret worked as a Registered Nurse for 53 years. She started as an RN in Brooklyn in 1948 working as a visiting nurse for various hospitals. She continued her nursing career when she moved to New City in 1966 and worked as the school nurse teacher at Clarkstown Junior High School for many years. She also work as a nurse at Nyack Hospital where she was paramount in establishing Nyack Hospitals first Home Care Department. She worked in Nyack’s Home Care department until her retirement in 2001 training and teaching Nurses and Nurse’s aides how to provide the best home care skills for all their patients. Margaret enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, cooking and going to the Jersey shore at Sea Isle City. She also enjoyed watching Olympic Figuring Skating, The Yankees and her favorite TV show Blue Bloods. Margaret is survived by her three children, her daughter Jaclyn Lynam and her husband James, son Walter James and his wife Nancy, and her youngest son Michael. She was loved by her many grand children; Jimmy, Katie and Kellie Lynam; Emmeline and Hannah Donne; and Michael, Hailee and Hunter Donne along with her great grandson Colin Lynam. She is predeceased by her beloved Husband Walter and her siblings, Jaclyn Browne, Barbara Brown and Robert Doyle. The family will be receiving guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday, September 1st from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. A Celebration of Margaret’s life and faith will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 106 Orangeburgh Road, Old Tappan NJ on Monday, September 2nd at 10:00am.
