Marie E. Koehler

Marie E. Koehler (nee Pearson), of Lords Valley, PA, formerly of Old Tappan, NJ passed away on June 20, 2012. Beloved wife Edward T., loving mother Joannie and Edward C. and his companion Denise Nave, and best friend of 70 years Irene Pacheco. Marie also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and close friends.

She was a devoted member of the Borough of Old Tappan municipal staff working in many positions during her 26 years there. Marie was promoted to Borough Clerk in 1987, and held the dual position of Borough Administrator and Clerk from 1992 till her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the NJ Municipal Clerks Association and devout parishioner of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Old Tappan and the Church of Hemlock Farms.

The family will receive their friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Sunday, June 24, 2-6PM. The family will gather with their friends for a funeral service at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 106 Orangeburgh Road Old Tappan, NJ on Monday, June 25th at 11AM. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's name can be made to the Church of Hemlock Farms 1493 Lords Valley, PA 18428 or to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (princeofpeacenj.org).
