

Mary Theresa King passed quietly in her sleep on October 5th with her family by her side. She was born January 25th,1930 in the Bronx, New York. She attended Cathedral High School and graduated from St. Pius Commercial High School in New York City. She worked in advertising for McCann-Erickson until her marriage in 1954 to Jameson Joseph King.
Mary was the first- born child of Michael Toolan and Mary Kelleher, who emigrated to New York from Ireland. Mary was the beloved sister and sisters-in-law of Anna “Patsy” and Howard McDonough, Robert Paterson, Helen “Bridget” Toolan, Martin and Cathy Toolan, Virginia "Gina" and Mike Mohr. George and Margaret KIng, Barbara and Charles Donaghey and John and Geraldine King. She’s survived by her sister Gina Mohr and her sister-in-laws Cathy Toolan and Gerri King.
She was the loving mother to Mary and Tom Korzinski, James and Lisa King, Kevin and Andrea King, Suzanne and Wayne Gargiulo, Patricia and Dave Robison. Proud grandmother to Jameson (Jeanine), Ryan, Sean (Elizabeth), Kyle, Katherine (Andrew), Gabrielle (James), Colleen, Eric, Bridget (Samir) and Aidan. Great-grandmother to Landon. She leaves behind a huge and loved group of nieces, nephews and cousins in the US and Ireland, as well as many beloved friends.
After his service in Germany, Mary married Jameson at the Immaculate Conception Church in the Bronx on September 25, 1954. They lived in the Bronx and moved to Dumont, NJ to a home Mary loved and where they raised their five children. She was an employee of Prentice-Hall and a Manager of Fellowship Savings in Haworth, NJ., which later became Polifly Bank. She was a long time Parishioner of St. Mary’s in Dumont, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, she led her son’s Cub Scout troop, bowled in many different leagues, played Mahjong, was a fierce Bingo player, and Loved the Slots. Pennies Only! She shopped and always loved a good bargain! In later years, she was a resident of Coburg Village in Clifton Park, NY.
Mary was always ready for a party, she loved her big Irish family, Sangria, LCR, Entenmann's, Lindt truffles and Scratch-offs. She will be missed for her stories, advice, and joy for life.
As she always said, “Remember If it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t be here!” Love you Mom, You were a character!
