Mary San Filippo

Mary was born on April 19, 1928, in Jersey City. She was the middle child of her loving parents, Philomena and Domenico. Her older brother, Michael (and wife Lilian) and younger sister, Ann (and husband Ed) were a huge part of her life, as was her in-law family, Frances (and husband Dominic). She truly loved every niece and nephew. Mary married Charles on September 4, 1948. Together they ran two successful businesses.

Family was everything to Mary. With Charles she raised two daughters, Barbara Sabonjian (Dick) and Carol Cutrupi (Donald). She deeply loved her grandchildren, Lauren Bulger (Christopher), Michael Sabonjian, Kristine Lagana (Daniel), and Matthew Cutrupi (Lilibeth). She delighted in her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Leanne, Lorenzo, and Anthony.

Mary was a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed her many cruises and trips overseas. Mary was a fantastic hostess who was a great cook and skilled baker. She often hosted holidays for her extended family.

The family welcomes visitors at the visitation that will be held Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675.

A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge, NJ 07661. Interment to follow on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Road, Township of Washington, NJ 07676.
