Maureen F. Courtney (nee Gilhooly), 79, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 in Westwood, NJ. Born in South Orange, NJ, Maureen was a, devoted member of St. Andrew’s Church in Westwood. Her life exemplified her faith through her leadership of the parish prayer group, Bible studies and Eucharistic ministry. For many years she worked as a librarian at Bergen Catholic High School.
Maureen was predeceased by her beloved husband, “Jack,” as well as her sister, Marguerite Mindnich. She leaves behind her loving children, Frank, his wife Cindy, Rosemary Dillingham, her husband Paul, and her grandchildren, Jack, Marin, Leah, Grace, and Paul. She is also survived by her siblings, Eileen Light, Rosemary Clark, Grace Mayer, Edward Gilhooly, and Regina Tyson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 2-6 PM at Becker Funeral Home 219 Kinderkamack Road Westwood, NJ 07675. Funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew’s R.C. Church, Westwood on Monday, April 28 at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery, River Vale.
