Patricia M. Bonomolo

Patricia “Patti” (Ballway) Bonomolo, 65, of Westwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 5 after a long battle with cancer. Up until the end, Patti maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, and her love of family and friends. Patti was a dear wife to Gary Bonomolo, and a devoted mother to Kevin, Brian and Christina and her extended families, the Bonomolos of Pearl River, NY and the Ballways of Bergenfield, NJ.

Born on May 5, 1960, Patti grew up in Bergenfield, where her childhood was shaped by the close-knit community she loved so dearly. She attended St. John’s Elementary School, a place she often spoke of with fondness, and it was there that she first developed the beautiful penmanship that became one of her lifelong trademarks. Patti later continued her education at Bergenfield High School, forming friendships and memories that stayed with her throughout her life.

Patti continued her education at Glassboro State College. It was during these formative years that she met Gary, the man who would become her lifelong partner and greatest source of joy. Their connection grew quickly and naturally, rooted in shared values and a deep mutual respect. Patti worked diligently toward her studies and proudly earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration, an accomplishment that marked the beginning of both her professional journey and the beautiful life she and Gary would build together.

Patti had a successful career working in Human Resources leadership, before landing at Bergen Community College where she worked as Director of Human Resources until her retirement. Throughout her career, she built lasting relationships.

Patti and Gary shared a love of travel, including visits to Europe, cross-country road trips, and relaxing vacations at their favorite spot in Naples, Florida. Additionally, Patti loved escaping into movies, books, and Broadway shows. You can find her with a silver can in her hand, and a chocolate raspberry dessert on the table.

Funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, January 12, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Hillsdale, NJ. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.

Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood, NJ on Sunday, January 11, between 2pm and 6pm.
