Patricia R. Looes

Patricia Rose (nee Dunleavy) of Hillsdale NJ passed away peacefully at home on Thursday April 3, 2025. Pat was born on January 7, 1944 in New York City to the late Michael and Elsie (nee Gilchrist) Dunleavy. Pat, the youngest of nine siblings attended St. Catherine of Genoa Grammar School and The Academy of the Sacred Heart High School, both in New York City. She met the love of her life, Robert Looes at her first job at Consolidated Edison of NY and was married on October 8, 1966. Starting their family in Maywood NJ they moved to Hillsdale NJ in 1974. She was a long-time parishioner and member of the Rosary Society at St. John the Baptist Church in Hillsdale, NJ. Devoted mother to Justine of Hillsdale and Andrea (Robert) Bird of Centerville, GA. Pat was the cherished NANNY to Benjamin (Ashlee), Ryan (Erin), Leo, Bennet and Ellie. Pat is survived by her sister Sheila Dunleavy and Catherine Fitzgibbon of Oakland NJ, brother Thomas Dunleavy of NYC and sister-in law Kathleen Dunleavy of Holmdel NJ, brothers-in-law William Mulcahy of Oakland NJ and John Looes of Hillsdale NJ. Pat is also survived by many adoring nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in addition to her siblings James Dunleavy, Elsie and Robert Donohue, Michael Dunleavy, Agnes Dunleavy, Geraldine and Arthur Colwell, Chistine Mulcahy, Elizabeth Dunleavy and sister-in-law Jean Looes.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Becker Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Patricia's life and faith will be held at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow George Washington Memorial Park.
