P.J. was born in New York City on June 26, 1945. A native son of The Bronx, he was educated at the Catholic All Hallows Institute and Iona University, while working with his family on the waterfronts of Brooklyn and Manhattan. In 1966, he earned his degree in Economics and began his career on Wall Street.
He moved to New Jersey in 1975; in 1983, he settled with his family in Montvale, NJ, building a community of dear friends and neighbors. A survivor of the North Tower on September 11th, he nevertheless retained an abiding love for the city he would always call home.
For over 50 years, Pat dedicated his professional life to JPMorgan Chase and US Bank, specializing in corporate trust. His colleagues knew him to be steadfast, relying upon him for the same meticulous, dependable integrity that he brought to every aspect of his life.
A man of quiet thoughtfulness, his kindness and care was as subtle as his wit; his family and friends found his love where it was most needed, and often least expected. He had the gift of lifting others without seeking attention for himself.
His passions were similarly subtle, but deeply felt: P.J. loved music, and spent countless hours listening to records and the radio, sharing both his knowledge and his mixtapes. He was a collector, a hobbyist, a tinkerer, and a handyman, armed with his swiss army knife, a roll of duct tape, and a skeptical side-eye. He loved to dine out, exploring new restaurants throughout the Hudson Valley with his friends. An avid bicyclist, backpacker, and hiker, he treasured time on the trails with his family, friends, and pets.
From the black beaches of Hawaii, to the rolling hills of Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and beyond, he explored the world with a camera around his neck and a map in his mind. A first-generation child of two Irish immigrants, he held a special place in his heart for his family and their homes on the Beara Peninsula of Ireland, where his roots and his love ran deep and true.
Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Regina Crowley, and their children, Sean Crowley and Kerry Crowley; his first-born son, Patrick J. Crowley IV; his sister, Noreen Orlando, and her family; and his extended family in the United States and Ireland. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Nora Teahan Crowley, father, Patrick Joseph Crowley, and brother, Timothy Crowley.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood, New Jersey. A repast meal will follow at 4:30 p.m. (location TBD). Please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life and memory.
