Born March 29th 1942 in Jersey City New Jersey, to Antoinette and Francis Barbara, Paul was an only child lovingly raised by his parents and extended family. A devout Roman Catholic, Paul was an altar boy and later a singer in the church choir. Overcoming illness as a child, he enjoyed playing football and fishing and 50s music. After a brief stint in the United States Air Force, Paul joined the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
He will be remembered for his booming laughter. Simply hearing his laugh was enough to make us smile. His generosity was a hallmark of who he was and he was quick to buy you a drink and share one with you.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of the church choir in St. Joseph’s parish in Bogota and Epiphany in Cliffside Park.
He is predeceased by his daughter Cheryl and survived by his children Anthony, Steven and his wife Hitomi, Mark and Mary and his grandchildren Alexa, Kai, Peter, Riley and Ray.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared here for the Barbara family.
