I can't believe you are gone.  You are one of the sweetest, funniest, happiest people I've ever met in my life.  We knew how to turn late night work days into hilarious conversations.  It is not only a pleasure, but an honor, to have known you.  You made everyone's day just a little bit brighter by being in it.  Thank you for always being a friend.  Sending you love and hugs. Peter was a joy to work with.   He had quickly become part of our work family.   He was always positive and cheerful when we talked, and always passionate about his work.     I am devastated to learn of his untimely passing.   He will be sorely missed.   My condolences to his family and friends.

Peter was a gentle soul. He impacted so many people lives for the better. I remember when I arrived at his mom’s and he was in the kitchen and we talked about politics and the new shows on Netflix. He was so kind, so polite, his laughter was infectious. My heart is breaking for his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

Pete and I went to OLMA together and then to Saint Joe's. He was a great kid with a heart of gold and an amazing work ethic. He will be missed by all of us. My condolences go out to his family.

It’s hard to put together the words to share how much Pete's friendship meant to me. What I wouldn’t give to have one more Bandwagon fry night with him. He was the kind of person with a laugh that could light up a room and wonderful sense of humor that had you laughing right along with him.  Pete meant the world to me and I feel his presence with me every day, telling me to put on foot in front of the other…just like always.

Dear Jack, Barbara, and Emily,

Words fail as we can not imagine the heartbreak you are all enduring right now. Pete was a kind soul with a contagious smile. He was so proud of you, Jack, and your amazing willingness to serve and give of yourself on The Westwood Ambulance Corp. His love for his family and friends was evident in how he lived. Jon and I are here for whatever you all need whenever you need it. We feel blessed to have known Pete for even a short while. Today and tomorrow, we will all be with you as a Corp, as your neighbors, as your friends, both in body and in spirit as you walk through this incredibly and unimaginatively difficult time. 

To The Holzknecht Family, 

We are deeply saddened after hearing of Peter's battle.  

I remember Peter at OLMA as one of my first friends, and my father remembers Peter fondly, watching him grow throughout his time there. It was obvious even in middle school that Peter had a true passion for sports and the communications field, and it brings me a lot of joy that he was able to proceed down that path through college and as a career, even though it was tragically cut short, a blossoming life cut short far too soon. 

Peter will always have a distinct place in my life, as he was there for me and my family when my dad nearly died of a heart attack, and your family was able to take care of me in that difficult time. I will never be more grateful for that experience, and I know that God will watch over you for the rest of your lives until you can be reunited with Peter again.

Pete was really one of the kindest people I've ever met. He mentored me with engineering at ICTV and when we'd work together we'd always get into something like going up and down the hallways in rolling chairs until we were scolded. He was the best person to go to a Rangers game with and knew how to make people laugh. On top of everything, his hugs were so special. 

Pete was one of my all-time favorite students, always so full of joy. We especially bonded over our appreciation for Game of Thrones, and I still remember the excitement in his eyes when he told me about the GOT Concert Experience.  I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of Pete's family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. 

Pete was the sweetest, most down to earth person. A core person in our ICTV friend group, he never forgot to let someone know he was there for them for anything. I remember just knowing it was Pete screaming “Fidget” down the hallways of Park on the weekends and late nights because of how distinct his voice and personality was. He will be sorely missed. 

I am heartbroken to learn of Pete's untimely passing. I had the privilege of being one of his teachers at SJR. Pete brought joy and energy to everything he touched. His soul has a brightness about it that we don’t often see. While his passing leaves me with an emptiness that is beyond words, I am grateful for having known him. My deepest condolences to his family. May his memory be a source of blessing and joy.

I taught Peter when I was at  OLM and I am very sorry for your loss.  I was so sad to hear this tragic news.
He was a very sweet kid... I will never forget his gently manner.

We were profoundly sorry to hear about Peter’s passing. We have fond memories of him walking around the block and visiting with our kids in our yard. I remember he always tried to make Cara laugh when she was a baby. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Pete’s passion for his work was inspiring. He was a tech wiz who spent countless hours in the TV studio before hustling out to the football or baseball field to photograph the latest game. I feel so lucky to have known him in high school. RIP, bud. Too young. 

Pete was the best friend a girl could ask for. I’m not quite sure what i’m going to do with out his daily snaps or his constant dad jokes. I feel it’s important for his family to know that I ended up talking to him until 4 in the morning on Christmas Eve. We spoke about just about everything. When we spoke about our hopes for 2021  he just had one  concern, his family. He wanted his parents to get better and for his sister to not have to take on this burden alone.  He loved you all so much. While he may be gone, he will never be forgotten. Sending all my love💕

I share the sentiments expressed here by Joel Peters and so many others. I was blessed to work closely with Pete at WSJR TV, and as our "film-guy" for lacrosse. He was always diligent at his work, quick with a hearty laugh, and just generally a good, decent young man. I am shocked and saddened by this news. I promise that Pete and all of you will be in my prayers. I am profoundly sorry for your loss and I hope that the peace of Christ is with you today and forever. 

I’m completely devastated. Peter was such a great young man. Peter would help me  out at all our football games with equipment, photos, video. A real breath of fresh air. I am so sorry for your loss. Peter will be remembered by SJR football forever. 🙏

Pete’s time on this earth was short, but it was meaningful. He was as bright as a lightbulb and made an impact on anyone lucky enough to have crossed paths with him. Just like everyone of his classmates at St Joe’s, we will remember him as the amazing human being he was. May he rest in peace.

Pete brightened the hallways of the Park School with his warm smile and friendly demeanor. He was a good-hearted, kind, and dedicated person, and the world is dimmer without him in it. I'm truly sorry for your loss and my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

News of Pete’s passing is a tragic loss of a wonderful person with incredible potential. I remember Pete finding his way as a freshman in his high school of Saint Joe’s into the company of older students, and becoming a trusted and beloved friend to them all. He was funny, kind, sincere, intelligent, and desirous of brotherhood, which he earned and which he deserved. He worked hard to earn the respect of those around them, on the yearbook, helping with charitable programs, and just being an all-around good guy. My deepest condolences to his family and all those whose lives were touched in a positive way by Pete.

Dear Holzknecht Family,
I am profoundly shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. My deepest condolences to all of you. May you find some small measure of consolation from the love and support of family and friends during this very difficult time. Be assured of my prayers for you and for Peter. I have such pleasant memories of Peter as my student. He was an engaging, intelligent, and affable person, and it was a genuine pleasure to have taught him.

Pete was a freshman when I was a senior at St. Joe’s, and I got to know him through the theater program. Pete was kind, funny, and dedicated to everything he tried out. He took his roles seriously and I looked at him as one of my little brothers/mentees, so to speak. I remember some of his TV skits on our school station and how excited I was that he was getting into TV. 

I’m gutted — he was too creative, too kind, and too young to leave. May his memory be a blessing. - Jeff

Sending my deepest condolences to the family. I remember taking this  photo of Pete and my son Jake on graduation day. My heart is broken for you. May his memory be a blessing.  

One of the first memories I have of Pete is sharing cookies in West Tower. He was always so caring, outgoing, and hard working is a shock that he has left us so soon. Praying for his family at this time and hope that he is resting easy now. 

Pete was one of the kindest, sweetest people I ever met at IC.  He was always quick with a laugh and just made you feel like a million bucks when you were talking to him.  He will be sincerely missed.
