LAWLOR, Raymond G., 95, of Harrington Park, NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 27th, 2021. Raymond is survived by his dear daughter Maria Dineen and her husband John as well as his grandchildren Katie, John and Shay. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Nair.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and was posted to China, where he served as a weather intelligence officer. He completed his undergraduate studies at Kings College before receiving his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law. He practiced law for thirty-eight years, retiring from McLaughlin Lawlor and Simone, the law firm that bore his name.
He was deeply invested in his Church and his community, and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. He will be remembered as a tireless crusader for the causes dear to his heart and a compassionate benefactor to those in need.
His two great joys were his garden and his golf game -- the only thing he loved more than growing his huckleberries and hydrangeas was a round of golf with his brothers in the Pocono Mountains.
The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, June 29th from 4-7PM. A Mass celebrating Raymond's life and faith will be held at Our Lady Of Victories R.C. Church in Harrington Park, NJ on Wednesday, June 30th at 10AM with interment at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ to follow. Memorial contributions can be made in Raymond's name to Covenant House.
