Richard Erazm Tomczak

Richard E, 66, resident of River Vale for 31 years, passed away on August 21st, 2015 at home. Born in New York City, Richard worked as an operational engineer at City College of New York for 35 years before retiring in 2014.

He is remembered by his wife Lidia (Nagietowicz) Tomczak; daughter Eve Lotito and her husband Christopher, daughter Monika Tomczak and her husband Josh Hagadorn, and son, Adam Tomczak, Ph.D. A devoted husband and loving father, he was a true family man. He was incredibly proud of his family.

“Rick” or “Richie,” as he was affectionately called, loved serving on the Mt. Peter Ski Patrol in Warwick NY, where he volunteered as a patroller for several years. An avid lover of the outdoors, he was passionate about the environment and health, and loved hiking, camping, and skiing. Always proud of his heritage, Richie served as President of the Polish American Club of North Jersey for many years.

The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, on Thursday August 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass celebrating Rick’s life and faith will be held at the Church of the Assumption, 29 Jefferson Avenue, Emerson, NJ on Friday August 28th at 10 AM.
