FISCHER, Robert F., 85, on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, of Old Tappan. Beloved husband of the late Wilma. Devoted father of four sons, Robert and wife Kathy, Mark, Michael and wife Patricia, Daniel and wife Renee. Dear brother of Carol Kruse. Loving grandfather to Caitlyn, Brian, Kevin, Matthew, Melissa, Emily, Rachel, Paul and Aris. Great grandfather to Lillian and Sadie. Born in Newark NJ, he grew up in East Orange and lived there with his wife and four young sons until 1962, moving to Livingston NJ. Again moving to Allentown, Pa, and retiring to Ocean Twp. N.J. before finally moving to Old Tappan NJ. Robert was an electrical engineer with Bell Labs, in Murray Hill, NJ for over 45 years, retiring in 2001 after receiving several awards and patents. And a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. Visitation at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood on Sunday Dec. 18th 2pm-6pm, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
