

Robert (Bob) FitzGibbon was born into eternal life at the age of 93 on February 14, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born in the Bronx, NY and lived his childhood in the Bronx and in his family beach home in Milford, CT during his childhood. He worked at the Radio City Music hall as a tour guide at the age of 16 in 1945 during WWII. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952. He graduated from Pace University in NY with a degree in accounting. His career was as an accountant and manager at country clubs and hotels that included the Commodore Hotel, the Harvard Club, the New York Yacht Club, the Westchester Country Club in New York, and the Hackensack Golf Club in New Jersey.
He is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Eileen O’Shaughnessy FitzGibbon, his son Mark FitzGibbon and daughter Colleen Sinatra. Bob is survived by his children Edward/Linda FitzGibbon and Maura /Joseph Piccerillo. He has 8 grandchildren - Ryan and Keith FitzGibbon, Meredith/Joe Marra, Tara Sinatra, Lauren and Mellissa FitzGibbon, and Robert Piccerillo and 5 great grandchildren: Azaiah, Nico, Wyatt, and Braxton Sinatra and newborn Wyatt Francis Marra.
Bob’s favorite hobby was dancing. He could dance the night away if he had someone he could hold on to. He also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, swimming, and playing golf. Bob’s favorite thing to do after his retirement was volunteering at the UVA Medical Center starting at 5:00am where he was blessed with many friends.
