

Russell Rudolph Pronovost, 72 of Westwood, NJ passed away on February 2, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Waterbury, CT, he has lived in Westwood for 46 years. Russell was a proud US Navy veteran, and served on and commissioned the USS Enterprise.
He served as an EMT in Westwood, NJ for many years, and was a lifetime member of the Ambulance Corps. He loved his God and Country. Russell worked for Minigrip, Power Conversion, Xerox and was a self –employed electrician and owner of Pro Electric & Son. He was a long-time communicant of St. Andrew’s Church and was involved in many ministries of the parish including the Knights of Columbus.
Russell’s main interest was his wife Martha and his whole family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved to joke and had a wonderful sense of humor. The family would like to thank the Hackensack Hospice for the loving care of him in the last month. We would also like to thank God for all the years we had with Russell. We all know that life is a temporary gift.
Russell was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Evelyn Pronovost, and his son James Pronovost. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Martha (Keeney) Pronovost; his loving children, Jacqueline Pronovost, Russell Pronovost and his wife Kristi, Brian Pronovost, Kevin Pronovost and his wife Bridget; his cherished grandchildren, Colin, Ashley, Kayla, and Aydan Pronovost; his brother, Edward Pronovost and his wife Claire; his sister, Elaine Dugan and her husband John and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Becker Funeral Home on Wednesday 10am with a 11am funeral mass at St. Andrew’s Church, Westwood, NJ. Private cremation to follow. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Social Concerns of St. Andrew’s Church or Restore the Shore Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund in his memory.
