Thomas R. Kirk

KIRK, Thomas R. Sr., 88, of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014. Born in the Bronx, NY to John and Theresa Kirk. He served his country proudly in the US Army Infantry during WWII. Thomas would go on to join NYC Police Department then the NYC Fire Department from which he would retire. Beloved husband of Eleanor Kirk (nee Maxwell); loving father of Thomas R. Kirk Jr. and his wife Brenda, Hillsdale, NJ, John L. Kirk and his wife Karen, Ramsey, NJ, the late Kevin J. Kirk and his wife Catherine, Washington Township, NJ, Patrick Kirk and his wife Rita, Ramsey, NJ, Colleen Kirk-Hehir and her husband Cyril, Hillsdale, NJ, and Peggy McNamara and her husband Neil, Hillsdale, NJ; cherished grandfather of 20; and great grandfather of 5 with one on the way. Thomas is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. At Tom’s request the family will receive their relatives and friends for a gathering at St. John the Baptist Church, Hillsdale, NJ on Monday, from 9 to 10 AM followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Westwood Cemetery, Westwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Tom’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
