

Tom graduated from the University of Alabama and began his career as a drummer on cruise ships, where he formed lasting friendships. He later moved to New York City to work as a computer programmer before transitioning into roles in Information Technology with Ernst and Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and in tax technology at TYCO. Notably, he worked alongside his beloved wife Elaine at EY during his career.
A multitalented musician, Tom cherished playing in bands with friends throughout his life. He loved to cheer for his favorite football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also enjoyed tennis and traveling to destinations such as Japan, Ireland, Portugal, and Italy.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Elaine Blackwell; his son Adam Blackwell and wife Amanda; his daughter Emma Blackwell and spouse Evan; and his cherished grandson Theo. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Blackwell and sister Diane Mattison. He was predeceased by his parents, Felix and Voncile.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11th, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Becker Funeral Home, located at 219 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood.
