

HANLON William J., age 89, of Chalfont, PA. Born on July 17, 1920, in Syracuse, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Bergen Regional Medical Center, Paramus, NJ. Mr. Hanlon was trained as a chemical engineer and retired from HTH Incorporated of Cinnaminson, NJ. He previously was a resident of Chalfont, PA and Hillside, NJ. He also worked as a consulting engineer and plant manager for Claremont Engineering of Philadelphia, PA, Joseph Freeman Plastics of Brooklyn, NY, Emeloid Co. of Hillside, NJ and General Tire Co. of Akron, Ohio for 18 years. He served as a navigator in the Navy Air Corp in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated fourth in his class in the 1949 Syracuse University College of Engineering, PA. He was an avid reader and enjoyed solving problems both at home and at work. He was a parishioner of St. Jude's Church, Chalfont, PA and a member of of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers since 1963. He was married for 65 years and leaves behind his beloved wife Esther Hanlon, daughter Edith Katz and her husband James of Jacksonville, FL, son W. John Hanlon and wife Roberta of Westwood, NJ, and four grandchildren, Amy Iracki and her husband Dan, Jeffrey Katz, Brian Hanlon and Robert Hanlon. Funeral Liturgy at Church of The Assumption, Emerson, NJ, on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
