William "Big Bill" Schels, Jr.

William is survived by his children, Carla Andreasen (Schels) and her husband Robert, Edwin Schels and his wife, Lindsay and his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his father, William H. Schels, Sr.; his mother, Jeanette Schels (Barker) and his son, William “Billy” H. Schels III.

William "Big Bill" was a Vietnam Veteran, where he served 2 tours, from 1969-1973 and then came home to his family and began truck driving and logging in a business of his own, with his boys Billy and Eddie. William was well known for his dedicated years and service in tree work and enjoyed golfing and fishing.

His passing was a devastating loss to his entire family, including his (ex)wife, April Schels (Hoppe), as they remained close friends and were together since they were 13 years old. He will be greatly missed not only by his friends, but most especially his children and daughter in-law.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Saturday, July 6th from 1pm-4pm.
