

Alice Louise (McCoy) Hart, 94, of Wethersfield, wife of the late Charles E. Hart, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017. She was born in New Haven on June 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Bernard K. Simoninas and Irene Marie (Hackett) McCoy. She lived in Wethersfield for most of her life (graduating from Wethersfield High School in 1939.) Alice and Charles married on March 22, 1942. Together they lived in Wethersfield for over 75 years, first on Morse Lane in Old Wethersfield and then on Maple Street. Alice loved to sew and created most of her own clothes. She shared this talent with many people in the surrounding area by designing and altering their clothes. For years she taught tailoring classes at Wethersfield High School and the Hartford Public High School’s Adult Education Program. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal in Wethersfield. Alice loved to cook and her apple pies were legendary. There are many memories of the wonderful family gatherings around the dinner table.
Alice is survived by her three sons, Edward C. Hart and his wife Karen of Steuben, ME, Donald L. Hart of Hope Sound, FL, and Richard A. Hart and his wife Martha of Summerland Key, FL; eight grandchildren, Michael Hart of Bristol, David Hart of Phoenix, AZ, Amy Cashman of Wells, ME, Kim Wolf of Wethersfield, Dr. James Hart of Carlisle, MA, Heidi Prasad of North Granby, Nicole Loud of MA and Joe Paonessa of Kensington; eleven great-grandchildren, Mallory and Timothy John Cashman, Marco and Maya Prasad, Lucian Paonessa, Tyler, Emily and Dylan Wolf, Aurora and Marley Loud and Emmett Hart; a sister, Evelyn Irene Page, of California, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy (McCoy) Ryan and Cecil Virginia McCoy, as well as two brothers, John Paul McCoy, and Bernard Joseph McCoy. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Masonic Home and Hospital, Ramage #3 for the care given to Alice.
A memorial service will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. at The Church of St. Andrew the Apostle, 331 Orchard St., Rocky Hill. There are no calling hours.
