Last year, I had a surprise 50th birthday party for my husband. Chris who graduated from high school with my husband and Andrea were among the guests. We took lots of photographs and placed them in an album. I had purchased 5 albums and they all looked the same. At Christmas, the high school group came over to our house and I asked Andrea if she'd like to see the photo album and she said yes. I brought down the album and gave it to her. She was looking at it with no reaction, no radiant smile...nothing. I said, ""Andrea, what do you think of the photographs?"" She said, ""Well....I don't know any of these people."" Inadvertently, I gave her the wrong photo album. I gave her the one from my mother's family reunion!!! We all laughed. I went upstairs and, this time, gave her the one from the party. We have some great pictures of her.

Andrea cared for my Mother, the last year of her life. She gave my mother such comfort and joy that last year. I just tried to call to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving and was led to this page. I am heartbroken  about her loss and feel very bad that I could not be there for you at your time of need.

Andrea took care of our Dad and beloved husband until he died in October 2006.  She was so wonderful and became a good friend of Dad (which meant so much to all of us!)and also became a member of our family.

She was cheerful, competent, loving.  The well-being of Dad (and, I'm sure, all her patients)came first and she was so pleased and excited as Dad and she bonded closer and closer.

She was at Dad's  memorial service and sat with the family.  Just about 3 weeks before her death we had lunch with her and received a loving note just before we heard the tragic news.

We miss her so much.  We know we are speaking for the many, many families over the yeaars whose lives she touched.

Our deepest condolences to Chris, Dianna, James, Richard and the whole family.

This past spring, after way too many years, I ran into you at Dunkin Donuts. I asked how you had been and how everyone in your family was.  You briefly talked about how you were and started talking, with great pride, about how Diana and Jim were. You told me how Rick was doing and that you would run into Ralph from time to time.  You asked about me and my family and how my dad was doing. We joked about how old we were getting and wondered where the years went. After a big hug and an ?I?ll see ya? you were off to care for someone.

Later that morning, I was parked down at the Point trying to get some work done but spending most of my time looking out at the river.  You pulled into the parking lot and got out of your car.  You explained that whenever you had a chance, between caring for people, you?d go down and take a walk through the park.  You asked me to walk with you.  On our walk you spoke more about your family and, without mentioning any names, the people you cared for. Again, you showed me, in your words, how proud you were of Diana and Jim and Rick adn the love you had for them.  20 minutes after it started, our walk ended. Another big hug and an ?I?ll see ya? and you were off to someone else who needed you.  It was so great to see you that day.  I felt good for weeks.

You were a great, great person Ann.  While your life was not filled with time, it was overflowing with greatness.  Your selflessness, thoughtfulness and caring for others was something that is not often found in a person.  You cared for many and cared about everyone. I can?t imagine how much you?ll be missed.

I know that next week, next month or any given day in the future I?ll see a car drive by, hear a song on the radio or maybe I?ll take 20 minutes out of my day and go for a walk through the park, and I?ll think of you. And when that song plays or that car drives by I?ll know that that?s your signal to me that you?re alright and that you?re still watching over all of us.

I love you, Ann.  I love you and I miss you.  I?ll see you in my dreams.
