
Ann Lucy (Malizia) Burns, 81, of Wethersfield, formerly of Rocky Hill, passed away on Sunday, (April 26, 2009) in Hartford and joins in death her significant partner of 41 years, Vincent R. Ferrigno, Jr. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late James and Lucy (Mazziott) Malizia. She was a woman ahead of her time in lifestyle and fashion and lived a full and colorful life. Ann is survived by her son, Thomas Anthony Campisi and his wife, Judith of Los Osos, CA.; her daughter, Lisa Ann Burns of Columbia; a brother, Louis Malizia and his wife, Joan of Berlin and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her best friend of many years, Ruth Pelletier, and her dear friend, Tony Ferrigno. Ann was predeceased by her beloved brother, Rocco and sister-in-law, Patty Malizia, and Dottie Ferrigno whom she always said was like a sister-in-law to her. Ann's family wishes to thank her case manager with Connecticut Community Care, Inc., Maura Palumbo, and to express their appreciation and deep gratitude to her home care givers Laura Dixon, Linda Nowak and Ann Vaccaro for their outstanding and consistent care, compassion and friendship they showed Ann during the past five years. Ann was an avid lover of, among other things, animals, high heel shoes, 'Cops', leopardskin, jewelry, v-neck tops, sweets, Georgina's Restaurant ravioli and her toy poodle, Samantha, who was adopted by the wonderful Kim. Friends may call on Thursday, April 30 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Graveside funeral services and burial will be private at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ann's name may be made to the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc., 103 Old Iron Ore Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
