

Anthony Michael ""Tony"" Vann, 83, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday (November 24, 2005) at John Dempsey Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Anita Vann, who died on October 29, 2005. He is survived by his cherished children; Toni Vann Granato and William Granato, and Korky Vann and Ellen Grusse and his adored grandchildren; Joshua Anthony Cagan and Kayla Solomon Cagan, Tabitha Cagan and Matthew Glick, and Taylor Vann Granato as well as six brothers and sisters; Michael Vann, John Vann, Marie Bull, Carmela Reeves, Jean Murphy and Louis Ventitozzi and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Vann. He also leaves all ""his girls"" among them, Sandra Moehle, Cheryl Kassow and Pamela Foldvary. Anthony was a lifelong resident of Hartford and a veteran of WW II. He was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Hartford; a summer resident of Sound View Beach, Old Lyme and past president of the Sound View Beach Association. He was the owner of the former Traveler's Spa Restaurant, a downtown Hartford landmark for more than 60 years. There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 30 at 5 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Friends and family are invited to visit from 4-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
