April Renee Hakes

April Renee Hakes, 29, of East Hartford, died Thursday, (May 05, 2011) in East Hartford. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of Linda (Shappell) Grabko and her husband Michael of Wethersfield and Mark Hakes of FL and lived in Wethersfield for eight years prior to moving to East Hartford two years ago. She was a graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic and was employed as a marketing manager. Besides her parents and step father she is survived by two brothers; Shawn Stoner and his wife Karen of Reading, PA and Shawn Hakes of PA; two aunts, Renee Matney and her husband Michael of Fountain Hills, AZ and Pat Shappell of Reading, PA; an uncle, Butch Shappell and his wife Elaine of Sinking Spring, PA. A celebration of April's life will be Wednesday, (May 11, 2011) from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial will be private.
