

Armand J. Panazza, 93, of Glastonbury, formerly of Berlin, husband of Phyllis (Ferzacca) Panazza, married for just a hair shy of 70 years, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 10, 2015. He was born April 14, 1922 in Hartford and was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. Armand was a proud WW II, US Navy veteran. He retired from the Hartford Housing Authority where he managed the Charter Oak Terrace Housing Project. Armand was honored to be a Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E. Hartford Elks Lodge #19. His passion for music was evident throughout his life. Whether playing his ukulele, keyboards or singing along with the music that filled his home. He sang with a Barber Shop Quartet and also orchestrated a variety of shows for numerous events. Other joys were playing cards, cooking and his power tools and gadgets. Armand loved spending time between Old Lyme and Florida but always the happiest surrounded by his family. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Kathleen Kaba and husband, Michael; Patricia Zewinski and husband, Don; Frank Panazza; Lisa Halligan and husband, Barry; Eileen Ferrato and husband, Skip; five grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his sister, a sister, Rose Machowski and husband, Ray, brother-in-law, Nic Ferzacca and wife, Mim and longtime special friends, Beverly and Glenn Billiter. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. The burial with full military honors will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
