It is with profound sorrow and disbelief that we mourn the sudden loss of Austin “Stin” Stefano of Wethersfield, Connecticut, who departed our lives far too soon on July 12, 2023. At the age of 24, he was taken from us unexpectedly, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.
Born on July 6, 1999, Austin was a vibrant and compassionate soul. His infectious spirit left a mark on everyone he met, and his untimely passing has left family and friends in deep shock and mourning.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother and father, Tracy and Joe Stefano of Wethersfield. He leaves behind his two biggest fans, Aunt Charlene Graziano (partner Dale Crocker) of East Hartford, CT, and Grandmother Adele Willett of Middletown, CT. He will be hugely missed by his sisters, Amanda Raulukaitis and husband Bruce Raulukaitis Jr., of Colchester, CT and Marisa Brayton and husband Doug Brayton, of Cromwell, CT, grandparents Carol Jones and Lois and Michael Stefano, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his grandfather Charlie Willett and great grandparents Jack and Mary Jones.
Austin was a graduate of Wethersfield High School and Pace University and had proudly committed to joining the US Army. He enjoyed playing video games, hanging out with friends, and playing with his dog Ace. You could always count on him to be there, although it may have been on “Austin Time”, when he was ready to make his grand entrance.
Kids always seemed to gravitate towards him and looked up to him quite literally, as he was a large presence in both personality and size. He had most recently made an impact as a substitute teacher and had refereed youth sports for years prior to that. He was the proud uncle to Daniel and Nicholas.
He leaves behind a countless number of friends, many from childhood, and many more that he has made along the way. The amount of people that have reached out during this sad time is overwhelming, and the family is incredibly grateful for all the touching messages, and memories that have been shared already.
A celebration of his life will be held at Wethersfield Country Club, 76 Country Club Road, Wethersfield, CT 06109 on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 2 – 7PM. During the gathering, we encourage you to come and go as you please, allowing each person to spend time reflecting on their memories and paying tribute to Austin in their own way. Feel free to join us for as long as you wish, sharing stories, laughter, and embracing the support and love of our community.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation in Austin's memory to either the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org or The Doggy Wish at https://www.thedoggywish.org/
