

Genowefa (Skiba) Baj, 79, of Hartford, beloved wife for 62 years of Stanislaw Baj, passed away in Hartford on Wednesday, (April 18, 2012). Born on October 17, 1932 in Kurylowka, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Michal and Katarzyna (Kosciolek) Skiba. She retired from the City of Hartford after many years of work in the Hartford Public Library. Besides her husband, Genowefa is survived by her son Jan Baj of South Windsor; her four daughters, Wanda Sarzynski and her husband Zbigniew of Lauderhill, FL, Jozefa Baj of Wethersfield, Irena Wright and her husband Robert of Wethersfield, and Wladyslawa Freitas and her husband John of Newington; her seven beloved grandchildren, Peter, Michelle, CJ, Natalie, Eric, Alexa Elizabeth, and John Michael; and her sister Maria Skiba of Kurylowka, Poland.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 21 beginning at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield.
