Barbara Ann Corso

Barbara Ann Corso, 69, of Wethersfield journeyed home to be with her family and our Lord on Saturday September 13, 2014 at her home. Born in Hartford on June 11, 1941, a daughter of the late Phillip R. and Antoinette (Franco) Corso, she had been a resident of Wethersfield since 1968. She was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1959. Prior to her retirement, Barbara was a dedicated employee for 33 years at Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford and later for the State of Connecticut - Insurance Division for 12 years. A devout catholic, Barbara was a faithful and active communicant of Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of Wethersfield who was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping. Most of all, Barbara was a devoted, caring, and loving sister and aunt who dearly loved spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Phillip R. Corso, Jr. of Wethersfield. Barbara is survived by her two beloved brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles ""Chuck"" Corso and his wife Rae Ann of Hebron, John Corso and his wife Tina of Cromwell; her special nieces and nephews, Christopher Corso of Hebron, Justin Corso and his wife Carrie of Coventry, Trisha Couto and her husband Rick of Newington, Nicholas Corso and his fiancée Kristen Tummarello of Cromwell; her adored great-nieces and great-nephews, Sierra Corso, Dominic Corso, Anthony Corso, Mason Couto, and Ashton Couto; many cousins and extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be Thursday (September 18th) at 9 am from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday (September 17th) from 4-7 pm.
