

Barbara E. Riccio-Woods, 76, of Berlin, formerly of Wethersfield, loving wife of the late James E. Woods, died Friday, August 17, 2018 at her home. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette (Pallone) Riccio. Prior to her retirement, she was the Director of the South End Senior Center in Hartford. Barbara enjoyed times with her husband Jim as the co-pilot of his Cesena Airplane. She volunteered countless hours with the Tolland Foundation, Catholics Grads and charity work trips with the dentist missionary in Honduras. She also enjoyed going to the beach and trips to Italy with her family. Barbara was a typical Italian mother who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a beloved wife, mother and sister who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son, Blaise Riccio, PhD and fiancée, Kim Sabottke, her beloved sister, Marianne Riccio all of Wethersfield. She also leaves behind a host of dear and close friends among them Gerry, Marty and Peggy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish (St. James Church) 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. The burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
