Candis Candy"" Louise Franco

Candis “Candy” Louise Franco, 65, of Wethersfield, a resident of Glastonbury Health Care Center where she was loved by all, passed away after a short illness with her family by her side, Thursday, December 3, 2015. She was born in Hartford on June 1, 1950, daughter of the late Nicholas and Angeline (Montanaro) Franco. She attended Saint Patrick and Saint Anthony grade school and was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, Class of 1969. Candy worked for the State of CT Labor Department, where she received many accolades before retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a loyal Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and UCONN Husky Basketball fan, loved playing Bingo and going to Old Colony Beach in Old Lyme. It was there where she spent so many happy summers with her family, aunts, uncles and cousins. Candy will be dearly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Nikki and Paul Sposito; her brother and his partner, Mark Franco and Becci Burnell; her nephew, Paul M. Sposito and his wife Rebecca; her niece, Gina Prestia, and her great nephews and great nieces, Lucas Sposito, Sydney Sposito, Matthew Sposito, and Grace Prestia, as well as numerous loving aunts, cousins and friends, and her godmother, Ginger Montanaro. The family wishes to extend their heart-felt thanks to the Glastonbury Healthcare Center for the love and kindness they showed Candy every day. Also, a special thanks to the Hartford Hospital 11th floor ICU Step-Down Unit and 10th floor ICU Cardiac unit; you truly are an amazing, compassionate group of healthcare workers. Calling hour is Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
