
Charles Edward Hart, 91, of Wethersfield, husband of Alice (McCoy) Hart, died on October 30, 2010. He was born in Hartford on June 1, 1919, the son of the late Charles Ward Hart and Mary (Heinz) Hart. He had lived in Hartford, Trumbull and Bloomfield (graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1937.) He married Alice McCoy on March 22, 1942. They lived in Wethersfield for over 70 years, first on Morse Lane in Old Wethersfield and then on Maple Street. Charles was an avid gardener and a ""tinkerer"" who had the reputation of being able to fix anything mechanical. He retired from the State of Connecticut after more than 39 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a member of the Hospitality Masonic Lodge of Wethersfield and a member of the Wethersfield Yacht Club for over 72 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Edward C. Hart and his wife Karen of Steuben, ME, Donald L. Hart of Stuart, FL and Richard A. Hart and his wife Martha of North Granby, CT; two sisters, Marion Rogers of Wethersfield and Dorothy Whalen of Wethersfield; eight grandchildren, Michael Hart of Bristol, David Hart of Gilbert, AZ, Amy Cashman of Wells, ME, Kim Wolf of Wethersfield, Dr. James Hart of Quincy, MA, Heidi Prasad of Newbury Park, CA, Nicole Hazen of North Granby, and Joe Paonessa of Kensington; eight great-grandchildren, Mallory and Timothy John Cashman, Marco and Maya Prasad, Lucian Paonessa and Tyler, Emily and Dylan Wolf; and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 300 Main Street, Wethersfield on Wednesday, (November 3, 2010) at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at the Masonic Home and Hospital, Ramage #3 for the care given to Charles.
