Claire Ann (Scavullo) Casparino

Claire Ann (Scavullo) Casparino, 83, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 60 years of Joseph M. Casparino, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday (December 22, 2014). Born in Hartford on August 3, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Rocco Domenic and Bridget (Scavullo) Scavullo. Claire worked at Travelers for many years and was also an expert seamstress. She volunteered for St. Luke’s and the St. Augustine Senior Center and was a member of the St. James Sewing Group and Women’s Club. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her husband Joe; three devoted children, Joseph J. Casparino and his wife Amy, James R. Casparino and his wife Lorraine and Debbie LaFrancis and her fiancé Mark Setaro, all of Rocky Hill; eight adored grandchildren, Ben Casparino, Michele LaFrancis, Anthony LaFrancis, Troy Casparino, Daniel Casparino, Nicholas Casparino, Natalie O’Connor and Lorette O’Connor and one cherished great-granddaughter, Lily Casparino. Claire is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by four brothers, Donald, Francis, Joseph and Daniel Scavullo and four sisters, Virginia LaDuke, Angie Lombardo, Nelle Southergill and Mary Cipolla.

Funeral services will begin on Saturday (December 27) at 8:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
