

Cruciano ""Charlie"" Savona, 80, of Ellington, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, Friday, (March 15, 2013). Cruciano is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Maria, his sons, Nicholas, Anthony and wife, JoAnna, Isidore and wife, Gloria and his daughter, Frances Wright and husband, Mark, his eight loving grandchildren, his brother, Nicasio and his sisters, Lucia (Savona) Fragale and Mother Superior Rosaria Fortunata as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. Cruciano was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He was preceded by his parents, his brothers, Isidoro and Antonino and his sisters, Mattia Gristina, Filippa Guzzetta, and Josphine Calderaro. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff on floor 8-1 Oncology at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford for their exceptional care and support.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Hospital Cancer Center, 114 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105-1208.
