

Daniel James Yagmin, Sr. 71, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 surrounded by his family. Daniel was born on August 7, 1946 and was the son of late Constantine and Grace (Tedesco) Yagmin. Daniel, affectionately known as Captain Matchhead, owned and operated several successful small businesses. He was a true sports fan and he loved being outdoors boating and fishing. He especially loved gardening, he would start his seeds during the winter months, then transferring them to his garden in the spring and nurturing them throughout the summer. He also enjoyed playing a friendly game of cards and was a sharp shooter when it came to pool. Daniel was a prankster, he loved to tease his friends. A confident man, he defined originality, his vibrant personality lit up a room when he entered. Daniel leaves his son Anthony Yagmin and his wife Patricia of Kensington, Daniel Yagmin, Jr. of Colorado and Patrick Yagmin of Manchester. In addition he leaves his beloved grandchildren Isabella and Anthony Jr. along with his brother Richard Yagmin. In addition he also leaves Patricia Yagmin, who not only was the mother of his children, she was his true soulmate and caregiver. Daniel touched many lives and he will be missed by his relatives, friends and all who knew him. The family will receives relative and friends on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Services will conclude at 7.
