Debra (Johnson) Kozik, 71, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife for 44 years of Michael Kozik, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born in Hartford on November 17, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Delores (Batteline) Johnson. Debra grew up in Wethersfield, graduating from Wethersfield High School in 1970. She was a clerical worker at Northeast Utilities for many years, where she met her husband, Michael. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother and she devoted her life to her family.
In addition to her loving husband, Debra will be forever missed by her two sons, Mark Kozik and husband Curt and James Kozik and her adored grandson who brought her so much joy, Aiden Samuel Kozik. She is also survived by three brothers, John, Joe and Donald Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at St. James Church of St. Josephine Bakhita Parish, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
