

Diane (Costas) Bokron, 59, of Wethersfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Diane was born on April 15, 1957 in Hartford and was the daughter of Steve J. and Sophia (Bacus) Costas.
Diane attended Wethersfield schools and was a graduate of University of Pennsylvania and the Columbia University. In her early years she was a practicing Dental Hygienist and eventually taught Dental Hygiene at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Hygiene.
She then went on to become the President and Chief Executive Officer of her family business, Omar Coffee Co. of Newington. Diane was very generous with her time in supporting numerous charities in the Greater Hartford area. One that was dear to her heart was Lea’s Foundation For Leukemia, where she served on the Board of Directors for many years. She was also an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and the Ladies Philoptochos Society, serving as both an officer and President of that organization.
Diane loved spending time with her family and friends at White Sands Beach in Old Lyme, CT. She was also an active member of Wethersfield Country Club and enjoyed playing golf with her many friends. She was very compassionate to everyone she encountered and was a true friend.
A loving and devoted mother, she will be missed by her sons, Nicholas Bokron and Steven Bokron. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Joanne Costas Lemnios of Farmington, Suzanne Stamos and her husband Chris of Dana Point, CA, her dear companion, Dr. Robert Piorkowski of Wethersfield and her nieces and nephews, Andrew, Michael and Alexis Lemnios and Sophia, Stephanie and Alexia Stamos.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. The burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield, CT with a Trisagion Service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford 06114 or Lea’s Foundation For Leukemia, 150 Trumbull St, Hartford, CT 06103.
