Edward Zagorski

Edward J. Zagorski, 74, of Wethersfield, CT, second son of the late Edward W. and Anna W. Zagorski, born in Chicago, Illinois peacefully passed into eternal rest on December 20, 2017 and is now rejoined with his beloved Frank. Edward spent his early life in Illinois where he earned a BA in education in 1966, he taught English and Speech at Argo Community High School. While at Argo, he devoted his time directing plays and was the schools Debate Director. Edward left teaching to earn his MA in Oral Interpretation of Literature from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He then moved to Connecticut accepting a position as editor at My Weekly Reader. He also worked on the 6th grade English publication editing for Read Magazine. Continuing in the editorial field, he worked for Coleco, a toy manufacturer in West Hartford as the Copy Writing Manager. Edward completed his professional career as the Director of Communications at the Credit Union League of Connecticut. Edward was a devoted poet and a member of the CT Poet Society, he also was the Founder of the Annual Poetry Festival in Wethersfield, CT. Edward was a very spiritual man, extremely involved in many aspects of his church. Edward was a kind and loving person who touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Val Zagorski and his beloved nieces and nephews, Patti, Mary, Steve, Barb, Kathy and Chuck. In addition he leaves behind many friends who will miss him. Funeral services will leave at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017, from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Wethersfield. Burial will take place at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
