She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Christine (Megaro) Peters; her brother Michael Peters; and her aunt and uncle Eleanor and Jerry Massaro. She is survived by her sister Geraldine Sullivan and her husband Tim of Hartford; her sister Paula McIlduff of South Windsor; brother Robert Peters and his wife Pam of Wethersfield; and her sister-in-law Jeannette Peters of Hartford. One of Eleanor's great pleasures was spending time with her nieces, nephews: Timmy & Emily, Paul & Heather, Chris, Bethany & Bob, Michelle & Omar, Kristyn, David & Stacy, Robbie and Mira. In addition Ellie is survived by a close extended family and a host of special friends including Bruce McBride. Ellie grew up in the city's South End and attended St. Augustine's School and South Catholic High School. She traveled to Europe, Asia and all across America. She supported many charities with both her time and her money, always willing to share what she had with others including being an organ donor at the time of her passing. She was a loyal employee who always gave her best effort and became a close friend and confidant of those she worked with. She treasured her relationships with her co-workers at the Hartford the past several years. Ellie lived life to the fullest and found joy in being with people, especially at a good party. Whether it was an idea for new business, a recipe from the food channel or discussion of a current event, Ellie could be counted on for a passionate opinion and an authentic interest in the thoughts of others. Those around her enjoyed the phone calls about off beat topics, which kept life interesting. Ellie was the consummate aunt. She spent long hours engaging her nephews and nieces in 'projects' with a level of enthusiasm that was unmatched. Whether planning a performance, starting an entrepreneurial venture or thinking up a new family game, children were never bored when Auntie Ellie was around. She had a way of making people feel special always giving her full attention to others. Ellie never allowed herself to be defined by her illnesses, and was the eternal optimist. She was provided with tremendous medical care throughout her life and took great pride in the fact that her doctors were recognized among the area's best. The family would like to thank her caregivers for making her life so comfortable at the end.
