Elisabetta (rosano) Catricala

Elisabetta (Rosano) Catricala, 83 of Hartford, beloved wife of Rocco Catricala for over 62 years, died peacefully, Saturday, (June 19, 2010) at Hartford Hospital. She was born May 7, 1927 in Girifalco Catanzaro, province of Calabria, Italy and was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angela Rosa (Cristofaro) Rosano. She enjoyed baking for her family, especially cookies. Elisabetta loved most of all being with her family and keeping them together. Elisabetta was always very loyal to her patron saint in Italy, St. Rocco. She will be sadly missed. Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Angela Marra, Tommaso Catricala and wife, Barbara, Vincenzo Catricala and wife, Teresa all of Wethersfield, Antonio Catricala and wife, Angela and Anna Rondinelli and husband, Aldo all of Rocky Hill;, a sister, Maria Cimino and husband, Antonio of Italy; grandchildren, Anthony Marra and wife, Nadia, Marianna Carlone and Guy, Rosanna Marra Czeremcha and husband, David, Joanna Gregory and husband, Sean, Elizabeth Vincenzi and husband, William, Rosanna Glenn and husband, Michael, Pietro Rondinelli, Salvatore Rondinelli and wife, Lisa, Diana Karak and husband, Naji, Jessica Catricala and Cristina Scalise and husband, Anthony; ten great grandchildren as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Domenico Marra, and brothers, Giuseppe, Antonio, Vincenzo and Francesco. The family would like to extend their great appreciation to the staff at Hartford Hospital CB-5 and Hospice Bliss 5 East for the wonderful care and the compassion shown to Elisabetta. Funeral service will be Wednesday (June 23) at 9 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
