Ellen Marie Nash Goggins

Ellen Marie (Nash) Goggins, 72, of Newington, formerly Wethersfield, beloved wife for 44 years of the late Jerome ""Jerry"" Goggins, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (October 13, 2014). Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on October 10, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Louis John and Helen Marie (Walsh) Nash but was raised from the time she was a baby by her loving aunt, the late Marie Walsh. Ellen was a nurse at St. Francis Hospital for over 40 years and a child care educator at St. Agnes Home. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved to spend time with them. Ellen had a skill for telling stories and would often be the center of attention at a social gathering making those around her laugh. She enjoyed going to the beach, celebrating holidays, playing cards and going out with her friends. Ellen will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kerry Goggins, Peter Devlin and her sister-in-law, Joanne Browne, as well as her nieces, nephews, many cousins and her faithful dog, Goobie. The family would like to thank her friends who have been so supportive, loyal and helpful. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (October 30) at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday (October 29) from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
