Emilia (diloreto) D'Alessandro

Emilia C. (DiLoreto) D?Alessandro, 95, of Wethersfield, formerly of Hartford, the beloved wife of the late Pietro D?Alessandro, passed away Thursday September 24, 2009. She was born November 27, 1913 in Pratola Peligna, province of Aquila, Italy, and was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Francesca (Vallera) DiLoreto. She was a dressmaker and was employed by Gino Fashion for a number of years. She lived in Hartford for 20 years prior to moving to Wethersfield, making her home with her son Giuseppe and daughter-in-law Serafina. However, the last four years of her life were spent in the care of Ellis Manor. Emilia?s passion was her family and she enjoyed spreading her motherly love in Canada and Italy during the summer months to spend time with her family abroad. Her pastimes included crocheting and passing on her Italian heritage. She was an honorable and gracious woman and her greatest joy in life was being in the presence of family. Emilia is survived by her children: Gaspare D?Alessandro and his wife Delfina of Canada; Silvana D?Alessandro and her husband Antonio Galante of Italy; Maria DiNino and her husband Gaetano of Canada; and Giuseppe D?Alessandro and his wife Serafina of Wethersfield. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Franca and Russell, Pietro and Kim, Tiziana and David, Nancy, Graziella and Maurizio, Lucia and Salvatore, Giovanni and Ellen, and Marcello and Aimee; and her 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Emilia?s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ellis Manor and to Dr. Santo Buccheri for their care and compassion. Funeral services will leave Monday September 28th at 10:00 a.m. from the D?Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Augustine?s Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford.
