Francesca Anna Reale, 60, left us on the 11th of January, 2011. She went the way she was, unassuming. Fran was the daughter of Rosina and the late Armando Reale. She will be missed by her sisters, Angie Reale and Phillie Reale Risley, her favorite “brother-in-law” Rick Risley, her nephew Jason Courtemanche, and her great-nephew Chase Courtemanche. She will also be missed by her Aunt Mary and Uncle Philip Iannucci, Gail and Marie Risley, Gary and Teresa Preziosi and her large extended loving family of cousins and wonderful friends. Fran was a partner of City Fare, Inc., a catering company in Hartford and Kidzzz a Cooking Culinary Program. She was an active member in the City of Hartford and always strived to make Hartford a better place to live and work. She was an old soul, her wisdom was eternal and she loved people - all people. She had friends in all walks of life - even a staunch Republican and a staunch Democrat - who could barely be in the same room together - but did recently and behaved - as only Fran could have them do. She was always there to lend a helping hand - she never thought of herself - always thought of others. Her charitable work was enormous - Les Chefs Femmes, Interval House, the City of Hartford and many other events. She had a passion and love for teaching kids about cooking, nutrition and where ""real"" food comes from. She loved history, art, good movies, good books and good food. She was a wealth of knowledge and knew there was always more to learn. She was open to different ideas, different beliefs, and different people and loved them all and they loved her. Fran once said ""we are all from the same garden”. Her family and friends were her world and she was the world to them. She made us all laugh and cry. She brought unconditional love and friendship to those she met and liked and allowed those she wasn't so fond of to go their merry way - without her. She was strong in spirit and dedicated to those she loved and the passions in her life. She made the world a better place and all of us blessed to have her in our lives. May she soar with angels and be in our hearts forever. She will be missed greatly - but she is only a thought away. The family would like to thank the nurses and PCA’s of CB2 with a special thanks to Dr. Diamon. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:30 am at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 155 Wyllys Street, Hartford, CT. Donations may be made in memory of Fran to Foodshare, 450 Woodland Avenue, Bloomfield 06002 (www.foodshare.org) or Hartford Food System, 86 Park Street, Hartford, 06106 (www.hartfordfood.org).
