

Giacinto “Gino” D’Alessandro, 81, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully in his devoted wife’s loving arms, Thursday, April 5, 2012. He was born November 25, 1930 in Campodipietra, province of Campobasso, Italy and was the son of the late Martino and Carlotta (Corlone) D’Alessandro. Gino came to America in 1952 and was a very successful businessman. He was the owner and operator of Kensington Fashions in New Britain for 30 years prior to owning and operating, Que Fashions in Hartford for 20 years. Gino was an avid golfer and belonged to Wethersfield Country Club for 30 years. He was a former member of the Wethersfield Rocky Hill Elks Club where he enjoyed playing cards with his many friends. He was formerly a member of the Generale Ameglio Club in New Britain. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Quintina (Golino) D’Alessandro of Wethersfield, his four daughters, Carla DiScipio and her husband Frank of Wethersfield, Sallyann Tolstick and her husband Bill of Wethersfield, Tina Gonzalez and her husband Luis of Southington and Gina Bielenda and her husband Peter of Wethersfield; his nine grandchildren whom he loved very much, Jessica and her husband Phil, Jamierose, Morgan, Billy, Luca, Sofia, Gianna, Martino and Ava, and his great granddaughter Julianna Rose. He is also survived by his siblings, Teresa Carlone of Italy, Giuseppina DeLuca of Rocky Hill, Mario D’Alessandro of Montreal, Canada as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who hold a special place in his heart. Gino was predeceased by his brother and two sisters Camillo D’Alessandro, Michelina Paventi and Saveria D’Avirro. Gino’s family expresses their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at CICU at St. Francis and the Neuro Trauma ICU and the Helen & Harry Gray Center at Hartford Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday (April 10) at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield.
