Guy Camarca, Jr., 88, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 62 years of Joyce Ann (Eldridge) Camarca, took his final curtain call on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born in Hartford on August 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Guy Camarca, Sr. and Jane (Sellitto) Camarca. He graduated from Bulkeley High School, class of 1953, where he was an award-winning football and track-and-field star, as well as a talented stage performer, appearing in many shows, both in school and in the community. Guy attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. He and Joyce settled in Wethersfield to raise their family and lived in town for the past 51 years. Guy earned his Associate’s Degree at Middlesex Community College and worked as a Computer Operator for Aetna, retiring after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a lifetime member of the former Great Elm VFW Post in Wethersfield. Guy was an avid historian, reader, writer and storyteller, penning many short stories and poems. He enjoyed watching black and white movies, Westerns and cartoons and was a lifelong fan of the New York Giants. In his later years, he enjoyed day trips to the New England Air Museum and Mystic Seaport. More than anything, he cherished being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Guy will be forever missed by his devoted wife Joyce; four children, Guy Camarca, III of Wethersfield, Deborah “Debbie” Owen of Manchester, Rebecca Naldi and husband Jeffrey of Meriden and Alicia Miller of Frisco, TX and his six adored grandchildren who meant the world to him, Brittany Owen of Berlin, Tyler Owen of Rocky Hill, Jacob Naldi of Meriden, Dylan Miller of Frisco, TX, Corinne Naldi of Meriden and Kaitlyn Miller of Frisco, TX.
