

Helen Clancy (Mulrain) Sullivan of West Hartford, died Saturday, (April 11, 2009) in West Hartford. She was born in Hartford, on February 27, 1922, daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie (Hogan) Clancy. Helen graduated from St. Augustine School and Bulkeley High School and lived in the city until moving to Norwich in 1971 with her husband Gerald Sullivan. She worked for several area companies during her career, retiring from Pratt & Whitney in 1982. Always mindful of her heritage, every day was St. Patrick's Day. She was quick to share a funny story or her love of food, books, and the cinema with her good friends in Norwich and Florida and with the new friends she made wherever she traveled. A loving mother, grandmother and aunt, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John T. and Patricia Mulrain of Wethersfield and their children, Neal Mulrain of Marlton, NJ and Brendan Mulrain of New York, NY; a son, Timothy B. Mulrain of Wethersfield; Mr Sullivan's children, Bryce and Diane Sullivan of Glastonbury and their daughter Courtney, Tom and Lynn Archer of Middletown and their sons, Graham and Christopher, and David and Elaine Sullivan of Waterford and their sons, Brent and Troy; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, two brothers and a sister. The Mulrain family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Home of West Hartford for the kind and thoughtful care they provided over the past year. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Norwich.
