Isabel Vazquez

Isabel Vazquez, 96, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico on January 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Vazquez Ayala and Sadurnela Ayala Cruz.

She loved watching her novellas while sitting in her rocking chair and listening to music – singing was one of her favorite pastimes. Isabel was not a fan of the kitchen, but she found tranquility and enjoyment in doing laundry and ironing.

Isabel is survived by her five children: Sonia Malave, Hilda Ayala Vazquez and her husband Samuel Vazquez, Miguel Torres, Timothy Torres, Maria Isabel Torres, as well as many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Modesto Ayala, and then by her second husband, Santos Manuel Torres Vazquez, her children; Norberto Ayala, Jaime Ayala, Francisca Ayala, Jesus Ayala, Santo Manuel Torres, Luis Torres, and Juana Torres.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday (March 11) at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial to follow at Village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
