

Jack Ming-Yun Fong, 86, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband for 49 years of the late Jenny Fong, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Born in Tongcheng, Anhui, China on July 19, 1930, he was the son of the late Brig. General Peng Fong and Xianqin (Zhang) Fong. Jack worked in banking for many years in Taiwan before immigrating to Rocky Hill in 1977 and worked as an accountant at Travelers Insurance before retiring in 1992. His passion was gourmet Chinese cooking and worked as a professional chef at many local restaurants. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his two sons, James Fong and his wife, Tammy, of Beijing, China, and Dean Fong and his fiancée, Mei Zhu Peng, of San Francisco, CA, and his two adored grandchildren, Benjamin and Kaitlyn Fong. Family and friends may call on Monday, April 17, from 4-7pm at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
