Jeanne Miele Fugate, of Westbrook, loving wife of over 40 years to Roger Fugate, peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Born in Hoboken, NJ, daughter to the late Thomas and Jennie (Tommasino) Miele. She had an outstanding career in education, for 35 years beginning as a teacher working her way up to HS Dept. Chairperson, then District Supervisor and finally as the Central Office Administrator. Along with her husband, Jeanne will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, two daughters and sons-in-law, Letitia and Brian Hedstrom, Jaime and Stephen Willey; five cherished grandchildren, Luca, Niklas, Nina, Lorenzo and Francisco; a step-son Kevin Fugate and his wife Carolynne; step-daughter Connie Johnson; as well as four adored step-grandchildren, Carrie and Eric Johnson and Justin and Tyler Fugate; sister Nina Emden, three brothers, Thomas Miele and wife Denise, Gennaro Miele and Anthony Miele and wife Susan; sister-in-law, Mary Anderson and husband Jim; brother-in-law Jerry Fugate; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by a sister Rose Tine and a step-son Brian Fugate. Calling hours will be held at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield, Friday, July 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private. My deep and heartfelt condolences to Roger, the girls, grandchildren and family. Jeanne so loved all of you!! We met teaching in East Lyme about 30 years ago amd have remained good friends! I loved Jeanne. Still do. She was smart, strong, kind, and loving! I will miss her always! Hugs to all of you ! She will always live in my heart!

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Jeanne was a good friend when she was at East Lyme High School and although I was so happy for her as she had more opportunities to advance, I missed her when she left. May your memories of this sweet lady bring you comfort at this time.

Jeanne will be missed. I was so grateful to have the chance to become a close friend through our Literary Ladies Book Club. We have become a family and will miss Jeanne greatly. It won't be the same without you.

Jeane was the most loving family oriented mom I know I loved her like my own mom she showed amazing family values. That had a great influence on me! Lots a fun beach days as a kid with her as well as sharing the holidays with her. Love you Jeannie! You will be missed by so many. Love kim

There's certainly no shortage of memories , especially mine - being accused of laughing the loudest .
