Jenaro J. “Jin” Andreana died peacefully in his home on Monday, February 16, 2015, at the age of 97 in the presence of his family. Born in Hartford on December 2, 1917, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Vivilo) Andreana and had lived in Hartford most of his life prior to moving to Wethersfield 30 years ago. He was the childhood sweetheart and loving husband of the late Frances (Callender) Andreana for almost 50 years. He was also predeceased by his son, Robert J. Andreana. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, class of 1935. Shaffer Company for 46 years and held the Masters plumbing license for the company. He retired in 1984 and was a lifetime member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 777. Jin was the family patriarch. He was fiercely independent and everyone and everything interested him. He read widely and usually had the answer to any question. He was an excellent handyman, and would do anything for anyone and loved doing it. He was a great cook and proud of preparing and baking the traditional Thanksgiving turkey, which he did in spite of his 97 years. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan as well as a fan of UCONN basketball and classic 1940s movies and music. He loved the city of Hartford and often reminisced about it to anyone who would listen. He was a communicant and supporter of St. Augustine Church in Hartford. Survivors include his three daughters and their husbands, Pat and Manny Ciarcia of Wethersfield, Caryl and Rich Wilcox of Southbury, and Pam and Ron Kisielewski of Wethersfield. Tracie (Steve) Wilcox-Zangan. Great-grandchildren include Lisa, Bobby, Emma, Charlotte, Maximilian, Vincent Jenaro, Mackenzie, Finley and Nolan. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including Arlene (Bill) O’Brien and Michael (Debbie) Draizen and their families and Susan (Dave) McBride, as well as his Botticello cousins, with whom he grew up in Hartford’s Columbia Gardens.
